Budget analysis – An Overview
An overview of this month’s income, expense and savings.
The homepage of discover is split between, user’s financial strength, their budget analysis and recommendations of products that would help them be better at their finances.
How this graph works?
The external circle is a depiction of earrings out of the total income a user has, the middle circle depicts their expenses out of the budget they have set and finally the inner most circle is the amount of money that is left with them, after the expenses made out of their income.

The pie charts displays the total expenditure the user has made in the ongoing month, distributed amongst categories of their budget.

We will talk about the budget tabs, while incomes, expenses and investments tabs work the same. They have a pie chart distributed within categories, with details about each categories, and all transactions in the month.
To achieve financial intelligence, the fundamental step is tracking expenses. Creating a budget empowers users to set spending limits across various categories monthly. Subsequently, it enables them to analyze, interpret, understand, learn, and heighten awareness about their spending habits.

What’s special?
While dedicating budget to each selected category, the user need not do any mental maths. The design is made in a way where the total budget is fixed (by the user) & the user can intuitively move around, setting budget in each category by adding in one, which automatically subtracts in another.

The budget screen, explains the user how their expenses have been, in comparison to their set budget and income. The user can choose to study the expense in relation to budget, or specific in categories. (The toggle to switch between budget and categories)
Why is this relevant?
One look, and this page tells the user, how their expenses have been, if they have gone beyond their budget, or to compare with previous months', or spendings in each category and its comparison with the set budget.

Distributing expenses, in each category and allowing user to analyse data, might sound too technical, but to display in a way which user can understand, interpret in their own way and make smarter decisions, is a win!
